Pete Helmer
The Leepers were a Mod band from Southend, who formed around Spring 1979. They included, Pete Helmer on Lead Guitar, and in the year or so they were together they made a big impact on the local scene, although it would be in a couple of years time that they would make an even bigger splash, as Le Mat. Le Mat were Pete's Biggest Success and the supported Duran Duran. After they folded Pete formed Holy Joe but without making the breakthrough he wanted he turned his talents to acting. He has made his way in that profession. He calls himself Peter Helmer and appeared in Judge John Deed on the BBC as a Character called Davy Cat Killick .
