Southend: Southend is a place with a long rock music tradition. With Procol Harum in the 1960's and Dr Feelgood in the 1970's, there have been bands that broke the mould, as well as ones who's music has gone all over the world. Recently with Bands like the Horrors and The Machines it has become fashionable again to say you are from the town with the world's longest pleasure pier.
Music Venues: We also have a long tradition of great music venues. Great gigs were staged at the The Dickens, The Grand Hotel, The Queens, and The Kursaal. Today we also have many venues like Chinnerys, The Palace Theatre and The Cliffs Pavilion. Look at some of the images we have take of the bands that have played in these venues. If your band needs photography please contact. For contact details please click on contact button on the left of this page.
Gallery: You can also look at our special urban landscape section featuring Leigh on Sea. This is in the Gallery section. To see these images just click on the Gallery link on the left-hand side of this page. Some of the images are of places which no longer exist. See if you can spot which ones. There are also images of bands who have played in Southend in that section.
