The Dr Feelgood Story part 3
I saw many Christmas shows by Dr Feelgood as the played most years while Lee was alive. He always played a good show even if there was occasional aggravation with a few of the audience. His intense harmonica playing and powerful voice meant there was never a dull moment. They played most of the decent venues in the town, The Queen,The Cliffs Pavilion, The Pink Toothbrush and of course the now legendary Kursaal Ballroom. In 2009 a film directed by Julien Temple, of The story of early 1970's Dr Feelgood, called Oil City Confidential, premiered at the London Film Festival. It is about four men who exploded out of Canvey Island with a sound that influenced the world.
DOWN BY THE JETTY ... The Dr Feelgood Story ... Revised and updated since its first appearance in 1997, the book celebrates the Feelgood's 30th anniversary in style. It now features a superb new cover illustration from cult artist Vince Ray which will make it stand out in any company. |
